Your role
AstraZeneca is seeking a passionate and skilled Senior Safety Data Sheet Specialist to deliver critical Safety, Health and Environmental (SHE) and Regulatory expertise. In this role, you will be instrumental in the production and management of Safety Data Sheets (SDS), ensuring our hazard communication meets the highest standards globally.
You’ll drive the creation, review and release of Safety Data Sheets (SDS) for APIs, biologics and formulations —ensuring accurate hazard classification, compliant labelling and clear communication aligned to local, national and regional regulations. You’ll bring regulatory expertise in GHS and CLP to shape consistent, global approaches.
You’ll champion smarter ways of working, using IT tools to improve efficiency and data quality. You’ll provide technical leadership—training others, guiding best practice, troubleshooting issues and supporting change and continuous improvement. You’ll represent the SDS area on cross-functional projects, contribute to process reviews to ensure business compliance, and share your knowledge through meetings, presentations and internal networks.
You’ll manage customer needs across a range of services, delivering timely, high‑quality and cost‑effective support. You’ll also invest in your own growth—seeking development opportunities and bringing insights back to the team and wider networks.
Essentials for the role
- Degree level or equivalent, in chemistry, biology, environmental science, occupational safety, or toxicology
- A high level of expertise in Global Chemical Legislations, particularly CLP and GHS.
- Advanced experience in the creation of Safety Data Sheets
- Knowledge of any relevant legislation/developments in the area of Safety Health and Environment, and maintain own professional awareness and development
- Strong communication and influencing skills
- Project and people management experience
Desirables for the role
- Understanding of multiple aspects of Safety, Health and Environment
- Experience in SAP EH&S authoring platform
- Dangerous Goods Expertise
